Solid Wood Flooring
Hardwood Flooring Contractor
Looking to have hardwood flooring installation done by a professional Houston hardwood flooring contractor? We can help. We’ve been installing all types of wood floors for over 15 years. Installing new hardwood flooring is one of the best home improvements you can do. From solid wood flooring to engineered, glue-down, and nailed, we have you covered.
Here at HGF, we specialize in installing site-finished wood flooring.
Unlike pre-finished flooring, site-finished floors give you a seamless, flat, bevel-free surface. They are much easier to clean (no dust in the bevels), can have maintenance coats applied if you choose a hard wax oil like Rubio Monocoat, and have much more freedom for customization.
You can sand and stain custom colors, install custom flooring designs like parquet flooring, herringbone, or chevron patterns, and add intricate inlays and borders. Plus you have a huge choice of finishes and sheen levels compared to pre-finished hardwood flooring.

Hardwood Floor Installation Service We Offer
Every homeowner needs to understand different ways of hardwood floor installation. It goes a long way to ensure that our clients opt for the best installation technique that prolongs the hardwood floors’ lifeline. Here are different hardwood flooring installation techniques we offer in the Houston and surrounding Area;
Nailing or Stapling
Nailing or stapling is a typical way of installing hardwood floors. The technique involves stapling or nailing the flooring material into a wood subfloor to bind the floorboards into the subfloor.
At HGF, we abide by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Houston Area Hardwood Flooring Installation Guidelines to meet the industry’s standards.
Glue-down
It involves using adhesives to install hardwood floors on the subfloor or a moisture barrier installed on the subfloor.
The glue-down installation technique involves the use of two types of adhesives depending on the area of application and performance characteristics. Our Houston Area hardwood installation team will opt for either of the following bonds;
• Moisture-Curing Urethane
• Synthetic Polymer Adhesives
Floating
The process involves the floating of hardwood materials above the subfloor without the use of nails or glue. To stabilize the floor, the wooden floorings are fastened from the groove to the tongue and at the end joints. The technique is ideal for renovating above existing flooring materials like laminates, ceramic, and vinyl that are difficult to remove.
